Lo más difícil fue echar de menos a mis abuelos y no entender bien a la gente en clase. Sin embargo, poco a poco hice nuevas amistades y empecé a sentirme parte del barrio. Una pregunta, paso a paso
- The question — «Según el texto, ¿quién ayudó a la persona con el idioma?»
- Find it in the text. Look for «idioma»: «El instituto organizó un programa de acogida y unos compañeros me ayudaron con el idioma.»
- The answer — La ayudaron unos compañeros (de clase), gracias al programa de acogida del instituto.
Reading technique: For a «según el texto» (according to the text) question, find the exact line that proves your answer — don't rely on memory or general knowledge.
La tarea — your task: Tu amigo Diego se va a vivir y estudiar a otro país y está nervioso. Escríbele un correo electrónico: cuéntale tu propia experiencia mudándote y dale consejos para adaptarse e integrarse.
Registro informal (tú). Escribe entre 70 y 150 palabras.

Subject / opening line
An opening line, often a question. «¿Te mudas pronto a otro país?»
Greeting + purpose
Greet your friend and say why you're writing. «¡Hola, Diego! Quiero darte algunos consejos.»
Your experience
Describe your own move in the past tense. «Cuando yo emigré, al principio lo pasé mal…»
Two or three pieces of advice
Give advice using the imperative. «Aprende el idioma», «apúntate a actividades», «mantén el contacto con tu familia».
Encouraging close
Finish with a reassuring line. «¡Pronto te sentirás más en casa! Un abrazo.»

Hi, I'm Karim. Three years ago I emigrated with my family in search of a better life. At first it was very hard: I didn't speak the language and I missed my friends. To integrate, I signed up for a football team and that's how I met lots of people from the neighbourhood. I also went to language classes in the afternoons. Now I feel at home and, besides, I speak two languages. For me, the most important thing was being patient.
