IB Geography Predicted Topics 2026
IB Geography rewards the students who revise the recurring patterns: changing population (the demographic transition, migration and ageing), the causes and consequences of global climate change, and resource consumption and security dominate the Paper 2 core, while freshwater, geophysical hazards and urban environments are the most-chosen Paper 1 options. At Higher Level, the Paper 3 "global interactions" essays return to power and flows, development and culture, and global risks. The ranking below weights each topic by how often it has appeared in past papers and the marks it carried, so you revise the highest-yield material — and the case studies behind it — first.

Frequently asked questions
Are these official IB Geography predictions?
No — they are data-driven forecasts from our own analysis of past Geography papers, not leaked or official IB material. They show which topics have historically appeared most often so you can prioritise; the real exam can test any part of the syllabus.
How are the Geography predictions calculated?
We count how often each topic has appeared across recent Paper 1 (options), Paper 2 (core) and HL Paper 3 questions, weight it by the marks awarded, and rank topics by that combined score. The command terms and the markband extended-response essays are tracked too, because the way a topic is tested matters as much as whether it appears.
How should I revise with them?
Start with the highest-probability topics, build two or three located case studies for each, and practise the "examine / evaluate / to what extent" markband essays that carry the most marks — then broaden out. Use the ranking to sequence revision, not to skip topics.
