  2. Find it in the text.
  3. The answer — Dormían en albergues baratos.
Reading technique: For a según el texto (according to the text) question, find the exact line that proves your answer — don't rely on memory or general knowledge.

Leaflet structure — 4 steps

1

Title

A short title, and a subtitle that says who it is for. Viajad ligeros, viajad con respeto

2

Sections with headings

Split the text into short sections, each with a heading. ¿Por qué viajar de forma responsable?

3

Bullet points

Short tips in the imperative, one per line. — Comed en mercados locales.

4

Practical info + call to action

Where to find out more, and a final push.

Title → Headings → Bullets → Info + call

Modelo: los 4 pasos en ~100 palabras

El folleto, paso a paso

  1. Viajad ligeros, viajad con respeto. Guía para jóvenes viajeros
Por qué funciona — why it works: A strong leaflet does this for each of the three Paper 1 criteria:

A — Language /12

  • Vosotros imperatives: llevad, elegid, comed
  • Topic vocabulary: turismo masivo, equipaje, mercados locales
  • Comparison: en vez de

B — Message /12

  • Task fully done: information AND advice for young travellers
  • Each tip is concrete and easy to act on

C — Conceptual /6

  • Leaflet conventions: title and subtitle for the target reader
  • Headings and bullet points, not long paragraphs
  • Practical information and a call to action at the end
Escucha como en Paper 2: Paper 2 also tests listening (25 marks): you hear short clips and answer questions — but you never see the words. Here's one, simplified. Play it, answer, then reveal the transcript to check.

Comprensión auditiva — las vacaciones de Elena

Listen to Elena describe her summer holiday. Try to answer before you reveal the transcript — that's how Paper 2 Listening works.

  1. Según Elena, ¿cómo se alojaron y viajaron? (How did Elena and her friends travel and stay?)

Hola, me llamo Elena.

Hi, I'm Elena. Last summer I went on holiday to Andalusia with my friends. We didn't go on a package trip: we travelled independently by bus and stayed in a hostel. In the mornings we visited monuments and in the afternoons we went to the beach. For me, the best part of the trip was meeting local people and trying the typical food. That said, we tried to travel responsibly and always respect the places we visited.

Listening technique: Read the question first, then listen for that one detail — you don't need to catch every word. In the real exam you hear each clip twice.
