FAQ

Questions about IB past papers

What are IB past papers?

The examination papers set in previous May and November sessions. They show how each topic is asked, how marks are allocated and how long a question takes, which makes them the most reliable guide to what an exam will feel like.

How should I use IB past papers to revise?

Topic by topic first: see every way a skill has been examined, practise it until it is secure, then move on. Keep complete papers for the final weeks, when you need to rehearse timing and switching between topics under exam conditions.

Where can I get official IB past paper PDFs?

Official papers and mark schemes come from your school, teacher, IB coordinator or authorised IB sources. Aimnova does not reproduce copyrighted IB exam questions. We analyse the pattern behind them, give you the paper reference, topic, marks and question type, and write original practice questions that target the same skill.

Can I download official IB past papers from Aimnova?

No. Nothing here is a copy of an IB paper or mark scheme. What you get is the structure of every question, the exam-pattern analysis, and practice questions written by Aimnova with model answers and AI marking.

Why practise IB past papers by topic?

A whole paper mixes ten topics at once, so it hides where you are weak. Sorted by topic you see every variant of a skill in one place, the marks it carries, and whether it comes as a "find" or a "show that" part.

What is the difference between past papers and predicted papers?

Past papers show how skills have actually been examined in previous sessions. Predicted papers and mock exams are new practice exams built around the current syllabus and the likely paper format. Use the past-paper analysis to learn the recurring patterns, then predicted papers and mocks for full exam practice.

Which IB past paper timezone should I use?

Any of them. TZ1, TZ2 and TZ3 cover the same syllabus at the same standard, so treat each as a separate paper. Work backwards from the most recent sessions, which sit closest to the current syllabus; our analysis counts every timezone.
