IB German B SL Notes

German B

Aimnova offers free IB German B SL revision notes for the current syllabus, covering all five prescribed themes from Identities to Sharing the Planet. Each topic includes clear explanations in English, model German texts, audio listening practice, grammar walkthroughs, spaced-repetition flashcards, and IB-style practice questions with AI feedback — no sign-up required to read the notes.

IB German B SL develops communicative competence across five prescribed themes: Identities (lifestyles, beliefs and values); Experiences (travel, customs and life stories); Human Ingenuity (technology, entertainment and the arts); Social Organisation (community, education and the workplace); and Sharing the Planet (the environment, human rights and globalisation). Every theme pairs the vocabulary and text types with the grammar and register examiners expect you to control — including the four German cases, word order, and adjective endings.

These notes are organised across seven study units — the five themes plus dedicated units on text types, grammar, Paper 1 writing, Paper 2 listening, Paper 2 reading, and the individual oral — so you can revise systematically for Paper 1 (one 250–400-word written task, 25%), Paper 2 (listening and reading, 50%), and the internally assessed individual oral (25%). SL students focus on producing clear, well-organised German and responding to authentic spoken and written texts.
