Key Idea: Personal texts are written to people you know, or to yourself: an email to a friend, a blog, a diary and a social media post. Each one has its own reader, register and parts.
Informal email/letter
- For a friend. Use tú or vosotros, never usted.
- Five parts: greeting, opening, body, wrap-up, sign-off.
- Start and end: {{¡Hola! … Un abrazo,|Hi! … A hug,}}
- A friendly tone, with exclamations and questions.
Blog
- For many readers. Use vosotros or a general tú.
- Parts: a catchy title, a hook, the body, a question to your readers, an upbeat close.
- {{¡Hola a todos! … ¡Hasta la próxima!|Hi everyone! … See you next time!}}
- A personal voice, full of opinions.
Personal diary
- For yourself. Write as yo, about your feelings and doubts.
- Parts: the date, an opening, what happened, how you felt, looking ahead.
- Begin with {{Querido diario|Dear diary}} and end with a real reflection.
Social media post
- For followers. Short, direct sentences with tú or vosotros.
- Four parts: hook, message, call to action, hashtags.
- Action words: {{comparte, etiqueta, pásate|share, tag, come along}}
