En una línea: El ensayo de NS no se hunde por falta de ideas, sino por errores evitables: una pregunta mal enfocada, resumir en lugar de analizar o un registro informal. Conócelos y los esquivas.

Dos alumnos entregan un ensayo de NS sobre la misma obra.

El primero eligió la pregunta ‘¿Qué temas trata la obra?’, dedicó tres páginas a contar el argumento y cerró con un ‘en conclusión, es una obra muy interesante’. Se quedó corto. El segundo preguntó ‘¿Cómo construye el narrador la culpa del protagonista?’, analizó cuatro pruebas textuales y sostuvo una tesis de principio a fin. Le salió un ensayo sólido. Misma obra, misma clase. La diferencia no fue el talento: fue evitar los errores que ya te sabes de memoria una vez que te los enseñan. Vamos a ellos.

Los dos errores que más hunden la nota

Pregunta amplia o descriptiva

‘¿Qué temas hay en la obra?’ no se puede sostener: invita a describirlo todo y a analizar nada. El Criterio B (análisis) se desploma porque no hay una tesis defendible. La solución: una pregunta enfocada y discutible, del tipo ‘¿Cómo…?’ o ‘¿En qué medida…?’.

Resumir en vez de analizar

Contar lo que pasa en la obra no sirve: tu lector ya la conoce. Cada vez que narras el argumento, gastas palabras sin tocar los Criterios A y B. La solución: por cada prueba textual que cites, analiza qué consigue el autor con ella.

El paso clave: Antes de entregar, pásale al ensayo tres filtros: (1) ¿mi pregunta de investigación es enfocada y discutible, o solo describe?; (2) ¿cada párrafo analiza una prueba textual o solo resume?; (3) ¿mi tesis avanza y responde a la pregunta, o doy vueltas sobre lo mismo? Si algo falla, se arregla; no se entrega tal cual.

Ojo con esto: El error más silencioso es creerte que ‘ya has analizado’ cuando en realidad solo has parafraseado la cita. Analizar es explicar qué consigue el autor con esa prueba textual, no repetir con otras palabras lo que ya dice el texto.
