La versión corta: Toda historia la cuenta alguien desde algún sitio: la voz narrativa y el punto de vista deciden qué sabes, qué se te oculta y de parte de quién te pones.

Imagínate la misma escena —una ruptura de pareja— contada de dos maneras. Primero: ‘La dejé porque ya no la soportaba.’ Después: ‘La dejó una tarde de octubre, sin dar explicaciones, y ella se quedó mirando la puerta.’

No ha cambiado el hecho: ha cambiado QUIÉN te lo cuenta y desde DÓNDE. En la primera versión estás dentro de la cabeza de él; en la segunda, alguien observa desde fuera y tu simpatía se desplaza. Eso es el punto de vista, y lo controla todo. Fíjate en las voces que puede elegir un autor:

Primera persona (‘yo’)

El narrador es un personaje de la historia y te la cuenta desde dentro: ‘Aquella noche no pude dormir.’ Solo sabes lo que él sabe, y ves el mundo teñido por sus emociones. Te acerca mucho… pero puede engañarte.

Tercera persona omnisciente

Una voz externa que lo sabe todo: entra en la mente de cualquier personaje —‘Ella sonreía, pero por dentro temblaba’—. Te da una visión completa, casi como la de un dios que observa a todos.

El paso clave: Precisa qué voz narrativa es y, sobre todo, interpreta qué controla esa elección: ¿qué te deja ver y qué te esconde?, ¿puedes fiarte del narrador (narrador no fiable)?, ¿a favor de quién te coloca?
