In a nutshell: Watch a full grade-7 analysis of an advertisement come together: annotate → thesis → three linked, evaluated paragraphs → conclusion. This is the whole method from Unit 2 in one worked model.
Seeing a finished grade-7 response is worth a dozen tips — it shows you the target, not just the rules.
🔍 We'll take one short original advertisement and build the response the way you would in the exam: read and annotate for choices, form a thesis, group the choices into paragraphs, evaluate each, and land a conclusion. Follow the moves and copy the shape.
The walkthrough moves
Annotate the advert
Mark the choices: word choice, imagery, direct address, layout, the ‘turn’.
Form the thesis
One line answering the focus (‘how does it persuade?’).
Cluster into paragraphs
Group choices by effect — usually 3 evaluated paragraphs.
Link and conclude
Each paragraph links to the thesis; the conclusion lands on the overall effect.
The key move: A grade-7 advert analysis = thesis-led, three evaluated paragraphs, each linked to the reader and the thesis, plus a conclusion. Copy this shape.

Why it matters in the exam: This is the exact shape examiners reward across A–D: understanding with evidence, evaluated analysis, tight focus, precise language. A worked model shows how the pieces fit into one top-band whole.
ADVERT (original): “Tired of coffee that tastes like a dare? Meet SMOOTH — the coffee that apologises for nothing and yet, somehow, forgives everything. One sip and Monday unclenches its fist. SMOOTH. Because you have survived enough this week already.” Guiding question: How does the advert persuade the reader to buy?

Watch out: A walkthrough is a MODEL to learn the shape from — don't memorise its wording for the exam. In Paper 1 your text is unseen; copy the method, not the sentences.
