Key Idea: Part 1 is your 3–4 minute presentation of the photo. Then your teacher asks questions: first about your photo (Part 2), then about other themes (Part 3).
The presentation
- Introduction — One sentence: «Pour commencer, la photo montre…»
- Description — «Au premier plan… à l'arrière-plan…»
- Interpretation and opinion — «Cette image suggère que…»
- Link to the theme — «Cela se rapporte au thème de…, car…»
- Conclusion — One sentence that opens the conversation: «Pour conclure,… j'aimerais parler de…»
The conversation
- Turn each answer into three short sentences: an opinion, a reason, an example.
- «À mon avis…» → «parce que…» → «Par exemple…»
- Didn't understand? Ask: «Pourriez-vous répéter, s'il vous plaît ?»

| Give an opinion | Je trouve que… | I find that… |
| Link ideas | De plus… / Cependant… / Donc… | Also… / However… / So… |
| Buy time | Eh bien… / Disons que… | Well… / Let's say that… |
Plan key words for all five parts in your notes, never a script.
Which parts of the presentation get the most time? Parts 2, 3 and 4: description, interpretation and the theme link.
The teacher asks «Aimes-tu le sport ?» You say «Oui.» Enough? No. Add a reason and an example.
You need a second to think. What do you say? «Eh bien…», never an English «um».
How do you make «On doit faire plus» stronger? «Il faut qu'on fasse plus», with the subjunctive.
