Text A — The silent disco: Silent discos, where dancers wear wireless headphones instead of listening to loudspeakers, began as a way to avoid noise complaints at outdoor festivals. Now they are spreading to museums, libraries and even mountain tops. Organisers say the format has an unexpected benefit: shy guests feel freer, because nobody can hear what they are dancing to. Not everyone is a fan, though. Some DJs complain that they cannot feel the crowd's energy when the room is quiet.
1. Choose the correct answer. Silent discos were first used to… A. help shy guests dance. B. avoid noise complaints. C. save money on speakers. D. attract famous DJs.
2. True or false? Justify it using words as they appear in the text. Silent discos are only held outdoors.
3. To whom or to what does the underlined word refer? (in bold) they cannot feel the crowd's energy
