Key Idea: The listening part of Paper 2 has three recordings. You hear each one twice and answer questions on them, for 25 marks. Answers are marked on content, not on your Spanish.
Format & rubric
- Read — Read the questions before the recording starts.
- Predict — Think what kind of answer each question needs.
- Gist — First listen: the general idea.
- Detail — Second listen: the exact answer.
- Check — Check your answers, and never leave a blank.
Watch out
- A word you recognise is not always the answer. Listen for synonyms too.
- Write short, correct answers.
You don't need every word, only the detail each question asks for.
The question starts «¿Dónde…?». What do you listen for? A place.
You hear the exact word from option B. Is B right? Not always. Check the meaning: it can be a trap.
You missed an answer on the first listen. What now? Wait for the second listen, and write something.
Do you answer in full sentences? No. A few correct words are enough.
