Key concepts in Desarrollar un argumento

Key Idea: Un argumento sostenido es una sola línea de razonamiento a lo largo del ensayo de NS. Cada párrafo hace avanzar tu tesis en vez de abrir un tema nuevo.

Desarrollar un argumento

  1. Tesis — Una idea defendible que responde a tu pregunta de investigación y toma partido.
  2. Progresión — Cada párrafo demuestra un paso y prepara el siguiente.
  3. Acumulación — Las pruebas se han ganado la conclusión; no repite la tesis.

Conectores que muestran avance

  • por tanto
  • de ahí que
  • esto conduce a…
Encima de cada párrafo, escribe qué paso del argumento demuestra. Si no demuestra ninguno, quítalo.

Tu tesis no responde a tu pregunta de investigación. ¿Y ahora? Reformúlala.

¿Por qué «además» es un conector débil? Solo suma otro punto; no muestra que el argumento avanza.

¿Qué muestra la conclusión? Lo que las pruebas han ido ganando por el camino.

¿La tesis describe un tema? No. Toma una postura.
